Kindergarten & Lower Elementary Program

The program begins at age 5 for K to 3rd grade and is a philosophical extension of the preschool program with a curriculum consisting of the traditional disciplines.  Our main focus is the child’s development in conjunction with our unique academic program.  We also emphasize on building their positive attitude, emotions and social skills.

By the time students reach the Lower Elementary Program at Greenville Montessori School, they have been encouraged to work independently in the classroom and take responsibility for their learning. Teachers track each student’s progress while guiding them through individually tailored academic plans. This empowers students to take charge of their growth and development, both socially and academically. Yet, there are also group lessons that continue to polish students’ social skills and inspire teamwork in the classroom.

Our goal in the program is that children of this age, in addition to receiving a formal and highly academic education, will come to appreciate their own worth and have a high regard for others.

At the end of the school year the children will be tested. Greenville Montessori administers the Texas Test of Basic Skills or the Texas Assessment of Academic Skills.
